This reproduction of an ancient piece of pottery is approximately 5 1/2 inches high and could have been used for small quantities of wine, oil or milk and would have been placed on the table. It is a perfect serving size for one and a perfect size to fit on your bookcase or desk.
The photos shown are a sample of the pottery available. Each piece is unique and there are slight variations in the height, width, and placement of handles. However, each is similar to the one shown in the picture. This piece of pottery was made in Israel and imported by Osmun Gifts. Colors of the ones in stock vary in grey tones depending on the clay that the potter had available just as 2000 years before.
These pottery pieces are not glazed. While our ancestors used them as is, it is not recommended today that liquids be placed in them. The liquid will be absorbed into the pottery due to its porous nature. However, after cleaning, they may be for storage of grains and dry goods.
